Frameless folding doors use individual toughened glass panels held only at the top and bottom by slim aluminium rails. With no vertical frames, the closed door reads as one sheet of glass; opened, the panels pivot, slide along the head track and park at one end, leaving the opening completely clear. They are the choice for balconies, terraces, restaurants and pool houses where you want protection from heat and dust without a framed look.

How frameless folding doors work
Each glass panel is clamped in a short aluminium profile at top and bottom. The top profile carries a roller in the head track; the bottom rides in a low floor channel. To open, you unlock the first leaf, swing it 90° and slide it to the parking bay; the remaining panels follow one at a time. Because the panels are not hinged to each other, they can turn corners and follow curved runs — something a framed bifold cannot do.
Where they work best
Frameless systems are ideal where the opening is long and you want it to disappear: balcony enclosures in apartment towers, villa terraces and pool decks, restaurant and café frontages, garden pavilions and gyms. They are single-glazed, so in fully air-conditioned rooms facing direct sun we recommend a double-glazed framed bifold or tinted/low-E glass; for shaded balconies and outdoor living spaces they are perfect. As a market guide in Dubai, a 10 mm toughened frameless system supplied and installed typically starts from around AED 900–1,200 per m²; 12 mm glass, tinted or laminated panes, recessed floor tracks and curved runs raise the figure. Supply and installation
Every frameless folding door project follows the same five steps, and you deal with one team from first call to final clean-up.
- Free site survey. We visit, measure the structural opening, check the floor level and lintel, and talk through how you want the doors to open.
- Design and quotation. You receive a drawing with panel widths, opening configuration, glass, colour and a fixed price. Nothing is manufactured until you approve it.
- Fabrication. Profiles are cut, machined and powder-coated in your chosen RAL colour; glass is toughened and double-glazed to size.
- Delivery and installation. Our own fitters install the frame, hang and align the panels, seal the perimeter and test every lock and roller. Delivery is free across Dubai.
- Handover and aftercare. We show you how to operate and adjust the doors, hand over the care guide and register your 10-year warranty on frames and hardware.

Are frameless folding doors double glazed?
No — frameless systems use single 10 mm or 12 mm toughened glass, because there is no frame to hold a sealed unit. They are best for balconies, terraces and semi-outdoor spaces; for a fully insulated air-conditioned room, a framed double-glazed bifold is the better choice.
Do they keep dust and rain out?
Clear seals between panels and brush seals at the rails keep most dust and wind-driven rain out, and the low floor channel is drained. They are not airtight in the way a double-glazed lift-and-slide door is.
How long can a frameless run be?
There is no practical limit — 10–15 m balcony and restaurant runs are common. Panels can park at both ends and turn corners.
How much do frameless folding doors cost in Dubai?

Can one panel be used as a door?
